9.4 Summary
After this chapter, you should have more of an insight into creating
the site and replication infrastructure for your own Active Directory
network. Having a basic understanding of the replication process
(from Chapter 5) and how the KCC operates should
allow you to make much more informed judgments on how much control
you want to exert over the KCC in your designs. We feel that it is
always better to give free reign to the KCC if possible, while
maintaining a firm grip over what it has authority to do. While this
can seem contradictory, we hope that our explanations on using site
link bridges and restricting transitiveness when appropriate show how
this is possible in practice.
The next chapter deals with how to update your designs to reflect
your requirements for Group Policy Objects in your organization.
